On Wednesday 3rd May we will be having a film workshop with our very own Sophie Broadgate!
Sophie is going to be working with us on our documentary film project about queer experiences in Cumbria. Sophie will be filming our group of artists and creatives and interviewing them, allowing them to tell their own stories throughout the film. This is a great opportunity to educate people about what it's like growing up queer in Cumbria, and shed light on a previously sidelined community in our county.
Sophie is a Cumbrian filmmaker who's work explores personal subjects such as Neurodiveristy and gender, her debut narrative short film as Director "The Water Tower (2018)" is the story of two queer isolated young people coming together and learning to how to be vulnerable. Her second narrative short film "It got me in November" (2022) is currently in on the festival circuit.
In the workshop Sophie will be showing us how to film and edit our own videos, and how to create cool lighting techniques!
